Vibrant creations that capture the light. Whimsical and one-of-a-kind pieces, including garden stakes, sun-catchers, magnetic art, and interactive kinetic sculptures with hand-painted details and wire accents. Other projects use stained glass and ceramic pottery to create a unique texture in the piece. If you have a design in mind or want something custom made-please reach out.

This is a picture of the artist. She is wearing a colorful dress with a floral pattern and has shoulder length blonde hair. She is smiling broadly and is wearing brown framed glasses and has a prominent dimple in her cheek.

Brittany Bassett is a self-taught stained glass and pyrography artist who grew up in Auburn, Alabama. She loves experimenting with color, texture, and movement, creating one-of-a-kind stained glass pieces full of light and personality. In her pyrography work, each design is sketched and burned by hand, intentionally flowing over and around the edges of the piece.  Brittany approaches both art and life with joy, embracing a whimsical, Outside-the-Lines spirit in everything she creates.

Stained Glass

Each piece starts as a hand-drawn pattern, guided by color, texture, and movement. Glass is carefully selected for the project and then cut by hand. The pieces are shaped and cleaned before being wrapped in copper foil.  Then they are soldered together—allowing the design to come to life through bold lines and shifting light. Every piece is finished, cleaned, and polished, ready to reflect light in its own unique way.

This shows a custom project created with both stained glass and ceramic china that has been broken. The overall design is of a bunny rabbit. The stained glass colors used are deep purple, blue and pink which compliments the flower pattern on the ceramic china plate. The rabbit looks like he is peaking over his shoulder and there are delicate wire whiskers attached to it. It is propped up by a stake in a planter pot. There is a large plant as the main focal point. The stained glass rabbit is surrounded by other pansies and green foliage that is planted in the pot. The bunnys stands about 14 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It's ears are perked straight up in the air.
This is a 3D hummingbird plant stake being held up to the light. Its belly is a whispy white glass and its chest is bright red. You can see light filtering through its green wings. The design is made to look like the hummingbird is hovering in flight.
This is a stained glass piece of a bee. Its body and head are made with an opaque yellow textured glass. The wings are made of smooth clear glass. It has a bunch of black dots painted on the body like like the stripes on a bumble bee. The wings have delicate painted lines of black dots outlining the sections of the bees wings. It also has wire legs that are filled with solder and delicate antennae. It is being held in my hand so you can see the size of the peice and accents of the clear glass. It is about 7 inches wide at the largest wingspan.
This is a large orange butterfly about 12 inches wide. It has hand painted white dot details along the body outside edges of the wings. It is hanging by a chain at the top of the wings. The sunlight is filtering through the glass and shows the textured streaks in the glass design.
This picture shows a curated stack of various products. At the base of the stack, there is a long rectangular charcuterie board with a large "H" monogram in script font. The are also a large and medium bamboo cutting board with mushrooms and garlic designs. On top, there are three spoons with various designs of lemon wedges, ferns, and a quote of "It's edible I think". There is also a small bamboo bowl scraper with a mandala design and a set of four coasters with the words "namaste" burned into them.
Close-up video of a wooden spoon with pyrography artwork, starting with a small fluffy bunny tail on the edge; when the spoon is turned, the full design appears—a rabbit sitting on its hind legs with front paws raised, looking curious.

PORTFOLIO

Pyrography & Wood Burning

Each piece starts with a hand-drawn sketch, guided by the natural movement of the wood or cork grain. From there, I use a burning tool to build depth, texture, and detail—letting the design flow freely across edges and surfaces for that signature “outside the lines” style.

I’m always happy to create custom pieces, including burning on items you already have and love.

Watch the detailed craftsmanship come to life. From the steady burn of the wood to the precise soldering of the glass, here is a sneak peek behind the scenes in real time.

TItle of piece: "Flutter"

This is a kinetic stained glass sculpture I made to be interactive-“Flutter” is a 3D kinetic stained glass butterfly sculpture (approx. 14 inches wide) made with iridescent white, streaky pink, and clear water glass. Suspended by fishing line, the piece responds to a gentle pull on the gem below, creating a lifelike flying motion. As light passes through the wings, it casts shimmering reflections on the surrounding surface. This piece was submitted to the 2026 Auburn Arts Association Juried Art Show.
